LAFAYETTE, La. - The Rhode Island softball team (0-5) fell 8-0 in five innings to Arkansas Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Rajin' Cajun Classic at Lamson Park.

Both teams were held scoreless through two innings, but the Razorbacks broke the tie as they plated four runs in the bottom half of the third inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Rhody threatened in the top half of the frame as it had a runner in scoring position with two outs, but were unable to come away with any runs. The Rams were held hitless for the remainder of the afternoon.

Junior Alison Hartzell took the loss as she fell to 0-3 on the year. In four innings of work, Hartzell gave up six earned runs on nine hits.

URI returns to the field on Feb. 25 as it takes on Virginia Tech in the Coastal Carolina Tournament. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
