Rhode Island continued to build its lead in the second half. A Ben Eaves free throw with 9:18 remaining in regulation put the Rams up by 39 points (75-36). After an Anthony Malhoit layup with 6:35 to go (80-44), both teams traded baskets to close out the game. With 1:07 left, Vedder was fouled and knocked down two free throws.
