Rhode Island Completes Day One at Rio Pinar Invitational

Day One Results

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rhode Island sits in 15th place following today's first two rounds of play at the Rio Pinar Invitational at the par-72, 7,001-yard Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando.

The Rams totaled 606 strokes through the first 36-holes of play, posting scores of 303 in both the morning and afternoon rounds. The final round of the Rio Pinar Invitational will take place on Tuesday morning.

Branden Chicorka is URI's top golfer after the first day of action, tying for 48th place. He carded a first round score of 76, following up with an afternoon round of 74.

Andrew Fiorenzano fired the low round for the Rams on the day, with a first round, 1-over 73. The freshman sits in a tie for 53rd place (73-78=151), one stroke behind Chicorka after day one of play.

Patrick Pelletier is tied for 67th place, carding a 76 and 77 - good for a total of 153. John Kelly (78-76=154) and Taylor Fontaine (82-76=158) rounded out the Rhody finishers in 78th and 88th place, respectively.
