RHODE ISLAND VS. OHIO STATE

  • Saturday's game marks the first time the Rams and Buckeyes will meet on the hardwood.

RHODE ISLAND VS. WASHINGTON

  • Sunday's game would mark the first time the Rams and Huskies meet on the hardwood.

RHODE ISLAND VS. SETON HALL

  • Sunday's game would mark the eighth time the Rams and Pirates meet on the hardwood.
  • Seton Hall holds a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series.
  • The first meeting between the two schools came on March 19, 1941 in the NIT at the old Madison Square Garden in New York City.  Seton Hall won, 70-54.
  • Rhody's lone victory over the Hall came on March 19, 2003, in a 61-60 nailbiter at the Thomas M. Ryan Center.
  • SHU captured the last meeting - 59-49 - on Nov. 28, 2004 at the Thomas M. Ryan Center.
  • Rhode Island head coach Dan Hurley is a 1996 graduate of Seton Hall and scored 1,070 points during his Pirate career.

RHODE ISLAND IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY

  • Since joining the Eastern 8 in the 1980-81 season, URI has posted a 247-200 mark in non-conference play.
  • Dating back to the 2006-07 season, the Rams have posted a 64-38 record versus out-of-conference opponents.

RHODE ISLAND VERSUS THE BIG TEN

  • The Rams are 4-10 all-time versus Big Ten opponents.  
  • Last season, Rhode Island dropped an 83-63 decision at Nebraska on Nov. 20, 2011.
  • Rhody's last victory over a Big Ten opponent was a 76-64 win over Northwestern on March 17, 2010 at the Thomas M. Ryan Center in the first round of the NIT.

RHODE ISLAND VERSUS THE PAC 12

  • Rhode Island is 5-14 all-time versus Pac 12 opponents.  
  • The Rams' last victory over a Pac 12 school was a 73-71 overtime buzzer beater against USC on Nov. 26, 2002 - the opening night of the Thomas M. Ryan Center.
  • URI's most memorable Pac 12 matchup came during the 1998 Elite Eight run, in a heartbreaking 79-77 loss to Stanford.

RHODE ISLAND VERSUS THE BIG EAST

  • Rhode Island is 20-49 all-time versus Big East opponents.  
  • Dan Hurley is 1-2 all-time coaching against Big East schools, including a 59-54 win at #15 Pittsburgh last season (Dec. 23, 2011) when he was at Wagner.
  • Last year, the Rams dropped their lone Big East meeting - 80-61 - at home to Providence (Dec. 23, 2011).

RHODE ISLAND AT THE MOHEGAN SUN ARENA

  • Rhode Island is 1-0 at the Mohegan Sun Arena, having defeated Oklahoma State, 63-59, on Jan. 2, 2010.

RHODE ISLAND IN IN-SEASON TOURNAMENTS

  • Dating back to the 1949-50 season, Rhode Island is 62-66 (.484) all-time in in-season tournaments.  
  • URI dropped its first game of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic, 67-55, to Norfolk State on Nov. 9.
  • After this weekend's games, the Rams close out Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic play against Loyola (Md.) on Friday, Nov. 23 in Kingston.
  • Last season, the Rams were 2-4 in the TicketCity Legends Classic and the UCF Holiday Classic.
