Rhode Island Wins 83-31 Over Coast Guard in Preseason Exhibition

What It Means:
Rhode Island played its lone preseason exhibition game at the Thomas M. Ryan Center on Friday night.  All 11 players who dressed for Rhode Island saw action.

Inside the Box Score and Beyond:
* Nikola Malesevic led all scorers with 21 points.  The 6-7 Serb knocked down 7-of-11 from the floor (3-4 3FG), while also grabbing five rebounds in 24 minutes.

* Xavier Munford - in his first action in a Rhody uniform - added 17 points, earning the start at two-guard.  Munford was 7-for-12 from the field, while also tallied two assists and three steals.

* Alwayne Bigby filled out the stat sheet in his first Rhode Island game - registering eight points, 11 boards, three assists, and four steals.

* Jordan Hare came off the bench to tally a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  The newcomer also added two assists.  Fellow frosh Mike Aaman grabbed nine boards and blocked two shots.

* Sophomore point guard Mike Powell dished out eight of URI's 19 assists on the night.

What's Next:
The Rams officially open the Dan Hurley era one week from today - Nov. 9 - at home against 2012 NCAA Tournament Cinderella Norfolk State.  The game tips at 7:30 p.m. and is part of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic.
