Saturday's game against SMU is the annual toy drive game, benefitting the Children's Friend Organization of Rhode Island.
All fans attending the game versus SMU are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for collection. Fans that bring a toy for donation will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a future Rhode Island men's basketball game.

RHODE ISLAND vs. SMU
- Today's game marks the first time Rhode Island SMU have met on the hardwood.
RHODE ISLAND IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY
- Since joining the Eastern 8 in the 1980-81 season, URI has posted a 249-205 mark in non-conference play.
- Dating back to the 2006-07 season, the Rams have posted a 66-43 record versus out-of-conference opponents.
RHODE ISLAND AT THE THOMAS M. RYAN CENTER
- This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Ryan Center - the home of URI men's and women's basketball.
- URI holds a 104-56 regular season record in the Ryan Center since the arena opened for play on Nov. 26, 2002 with a 73-71 victory over USC.
- Last season's victory over Hofstra on Nov. 25, 2011 was the 100th on the Ryan Center floor.
- The Rams have won 11 or more home games on five occasions - including a program-record 15 in 2009-10.
RHODE ISLAND VS. CONFERENCE USA
- The Rams have posted a 3-10 all-time mark versus teams that currently make up Conference USA.
- In each of the last two seasons, Rhode Island played at UCF and dropped both meetings.
- Prior to that, Rhody's last C-USA opponent was UAB on Nov. 18, 2007.
- The Rams downed the Blazers, 74-67, at the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla.

- SMU is one of five Rhody opponents this season who will have new conference affiliation next year. The Mustangs are set to join the Big East for 2013-14.
- Other 2012-13 opponents switching leagues in 2013-14: Loyola (Md.) (MAAC to Patriot League); Georgia State (CAA to Sun Belt); Charlotte (A-10 to Conference USA); Temple (A-10 to the Big East).
- Mike Powell played all 40 minutes against Providence - it was the third time this season that he played all 40 minutes of regulation. The sophomore point guard also played 47 of the 50 minutes of basketball in the double OT win at Auburn.
- Xavier Munford became the first Ram since Jimmy Baron to miss all eight of his 3-point attempts in a single-game.
- Munford is also one of five players nationally this season to go at least 0-for-8 from the perimeter and still reach double figures in the scoring column in a game.
MUNFORD LEADS ATLANTIC 10 IN SCORING
- Junior guard Xavier Munford ranks first in scoring in the Atlantic 10 (through games of Dec. 13).
- The Hillside, N.J. native checks in at 17.9 points per game, which also ranks him 53rd nationally.
- Munford is also eighth in the A-10 in 3-pointers made (21 3FG; 2.3 3FG/g).
- He has registered four of Rhody's top five scoring performances this season, including a 33-point effort at Auburn.
DUNK YOU VERY MUCH
- Freshman Jordan Hare had a breakout offensive game against Providence on Dec. 6, scoring a career-best 14 points.
- Hare was 6-of-7 from the floor - five of his six field goals were dunks.
- The 6-10 newcomer leads the Rams in dunks this season, with 10.
JORDAN HARE: RANKS AMONG NATION'S BEST IN BLOCKED SHOTS
- Jordan Hare ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and is tied for 19th overall nationally in blocks (2.7 bpg) -- thru Dec. 13.
- Hare also ranks as the fourth-best shot blocker among all freshmen nationally - thru Dec. 13..
- He blocked a career-high seven shots against Loyola (Md.) and followed that up with six swats against George Mason - two of the top six single-game shot blocking performances by a freshman this season.
- The 6-10 newcomer is averaging 18.5 minutes of play per game - which translates to a block every seven minutes.
- Hare's seven blocks were the most by a Rhody player since Dec. 13, 1984 (7, Chris Scotti vs. Bryant).
- He also had one of the top rebounding performances this season by a freshman, with 16 against Loyola (Md.).
- The 16 rebounds is tied for the second-highest single-game total by a freshman this year.
- He is one of just two players to have a 16 rebound/7 blocked shot performance this season.
