Rhode Island's Individual Results:
* Joseph Leavitt had his best collegiate finish - third overall - at the Connecticut Cup. The sophomore shot even-par for the 54 holes, opening play with a 74 before posting a 4-under par 68 during Monday's second round. He closed out with a 74 during Tuesday's final round - finishing with a total of 216 strokes.
* Billy Walthouse also had his best college finish - sixth place. After an opening score of 75, the freshman from Longmeadow, Mass. registered a 1-under par 71 and an even-par 72 over his final two rounds of play. He finished two strokes behind Leavitt, with a total score of 218.
* Andrew Fiorenzano finished in a tie for 25th place overall. After an opening round 77, the senior carded his best round of the tournament - 75 - during the second round. He closed with a 77 during Tuesday's final round - good for a total stroke count of 229.
* Senior Jared Adams finished in a tie for 30th place. After an opening round score of 77, the senior had his second-best single round of the 2013 fall campaign - a 75 - during Monday's second 18 holes of play. He closed out the tournament with a 78.
* Nick Fairweather competed during the tournament's first two rounds, registering a 1-over 73 during the Monday morning session and an 80 during the afternoon's 18 holes of play.
* UConn's Zach Zaback took individual honors. He recorded rounds of 70, 69, and 70 to give him a total of 209 strokes and the tournament title.
Rhode Island Team Results:
* The Rams finished in 3rd place, with a 54-hole total of 889. Rhody recorded team rounds of 299, 289, and 301 over the two-day, three-round tournament.
Host UConn won the team title with a score of 872, followed by Hartford at 880.

"I think we saw Joe Leavitt emerge and show us just how talented a golfer he can be. He posted low scores in each of the three rounds and kept us in the hunt. Billy Walthouse did the same and played with a poise well beyond his years. Nick Fairweather battled flu-like symptoms through the first two rounds and simply couldn't go on Tuesday. But with those three guys playing at the high level they've shown throughout the fall, we have a lot to look forward to this season."

Rhode Island heads to the NEIGA Championship on Oct. 27-28, held at The Captain's Course in Brewster, Mass. It is the final competition of the 2013 fall season for Rhody golf.
