Setting the Scene
The Rhode Island women's track & field team competed in their first official meet of the season in the Sorlien Coed Invitational. The other teams that competed included American International, Bryant, Massachusetts and Stonehill.
Rhode Island Results
- Brianna Robitaille won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.89 seconds.
- Dyshelle Pemberton won the 200-meters in a final time of 26.14 seconds.
- Lauren Burke won the 400-meters in a New England qualifying time of 59.32 seconds.
- Emily Renna won the 60-meter hurdles in a personal best & ECAC Qualifying time of 8.70. This ties the ninth best URI mark all-time.
- The 4x400 meter relay of Pemberton, Burke, Jennifer Czerapowicz & Michelle Savoie won in a season best time of 4:01.17.
- Janel Conley won the high jump with a personal best & ECAC mark of 5'7" which ties her for the seventh best URI individual all-time. She also ran a personal best & New England qualifying time of 9.14 in the 60-meter hurdles which makes the ninth best URI individual all-time.
- Genevieve Rybicki won the weight throw with an ECAC qualifying mark of 16.95 meters (55'7").
- Mariah Claudio was second in the 500-meters with a New England qualifying time of 1:16.80.
- Alexa Pelletier was second in the 3000-meters with a personal best and New England time of 10:06.06. This makes her the ninth best URI individual all-time.
- Ashleigh Marks ran a season best and New England qualifying time of 9.38 in the 60-meter hurdles.
