Rhode Island Women's Track and Field was in action on Friday, April 10 at both the Wilton Write Invitational at Southern Conn. and the Friar Invitational at Providence College. The Rams had throwers competing at Southern Conn. and runners and jumpers at Providence College.
Highlights from Wilton Write Invitational at Southern Conn.
- Alyssa Yankee won the discus (140' 2") and hammer (169' 6"), and was third in the shot put (42' 5.5").
- Allison Vigue won the pole vault after clearing 11' 11.75".
- Sarah Shipton cleared 10' 11.75" and came in third in the pole vault, and Makenzie Wagner cleared 10' and came in seventh.
- Rhode Island had two top 10 finishers in the javelin. Norah Kobaly (108' 6") placed third and Brooke Rubush (101' 1") placed sixth.
- Rubush also placed ninth in the hammer throw after recording a final mark of 132' 1".
- Rachel Federico finished 10th in the discus (115' 2").
Highlights from Friar Invitational at Providence College
- The Rams took home first, second, and third place in the 400m. Reagan Garibaldi (55.73) placed first, Keira Cleary (56.15) finished second, and Nyah Santana (56.86) rounded out the top three.
- Garibaldi was the top freshman and fifth overall in the 200m with a time of 25.24.
- Rhode Island had three, top five finishers in the 100m hurdles. Zarah Singleton (14.37) led all Rams in second place with Kayla Clark (15.18) behind her in third. Lily MacDonald (15.62) finished in fifth.
- Singleton also finished second in the 100m with a time of 12.10.
- Odette van Wyk (12.26) finished in fourth place in the 100m hurdles.
- Gwen McCloughan finished in fifth place in open field of the 3000m run with a time of 10:24.13.
- Josie Allred (5' 1.25") and Alexis Zarr (4' 9.5") finished second and third in the high jump.
- The long jump field was made up entirely of Rams. MacDonald (17' 10.75"), Lexi Best (16' 10.5"), Kiley Mironenko (16' 5"), and Emma Halsey (16' 0.5") all competed.

The Rams are in action next weekend, Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. Rhode Island will be at the ECAC Championships in New Brunswick, N.J. all weekend and also competing at the Holy Cross Invitational in Worcester, Mass. on Saturday.
