EASTON, Mass. - Rhode Island Track & Field had a partial contingent at the Skyhawk Invitational at Stonehill on Saturday afternoon. The group was made up of throwers competing across the shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin events.
Alyssa Yankee led the way for Rhode Island with wins in three events.
Brooke Rubush also won the javelin.
Highlights
- Rhode Island had three of the top 10 finishers in the shot put including Alyssa Yankee who won the event with a toss of 45' 3.5".
- Yankee also placed first in the discus (136' 11").
- Yankee won the hammer throw, too, with a toss of 176' 5".
- Brooke Rubush won the javelin after a 116' 5" toss.
- Rubush placed second in the hammer (160' 1").
- Following Yankee in the discuss was Mae Gall in second place with a throw of 136' 11".
- Elizabeth Dankwa was the next Ram in the shot put finishing fourth after a toss of 40' 2.25".
- Dankwa was third in the discus (131' 4").
- Madison Boucher rounded out the Rhode Island group in the shot put's top 10 placing eighth after a 34' 9.5" toss.
- Boucher was tenth in the discus (106' 1") and second in the hammer (160' 1").

Rhode Island competes in the Atlantic 10 Championship next week in Fairfax, Va. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 with both day beginning at 10 a.m.
