How it Happened
Nithila Asokaraj and Kathleen Uy posted a 6-3 win at No. 2 and that was good enough to get Rhode Island the doubles point as LIU forfeited the No. 3 match.
Rhode Island then collected four points in singles as Galina Chernykh picked up a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 1, Taylor Holden downed her opponent in straight sets at No. 2 and Uy won a third-set tiebreaker to take the No. 4 match. Rhody's fourth point came as a result of LIU forfeiting at the sixth position.
