Women's Track & Field in Third After Day One of A-10 Championship

Setting the Scene
The Rams currently are in third place after Saturday's events with 32 points. Dayton is in the first place with 43 total points.

Rhode Island Results

  • Janel Conley was positioned in first place heading into the last event in the pentathlon, the 800-meter run, however Louise Prevoteau beat her out by 25 seconds in the event and was awarded first place in the pentathlon. Conley finished in fifth overall.
  • In the pole vault Kaylan Pickford and Lindsey Folsom picked up points for URI with four and three respectively. Pickford finished in fifth and Folsom finished in sixth.
  • Alexa Pelletier came in fourth in the 5000-meter run at 16:58.81.
  • In the long jump Kimberly Ezeama gained five points for Rhody coming in fourth place (5.53m).
  • Genevieve Rybicki, Grace Janes and Aysha Moreino placed fourth, fifth and seventh respectively in the weight throw. Rybicki threw 16.50m, Janes threw 15.56m and Moreino threw 15.46m.

Sunday's Finals 

  • The first qualifying run of the day came from Emily Renna who placed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69.
  • Jennifer Christian, Hannah Janeczak and Brianna Robitaille qualified for tomorrows 60-meter dash with times of 7.78, 7.80 and 7.80 respectively. Christian also qualified for the 200-meter finals.
  • Juliana Galante will run in the 800 tomorrow qualifying with a time of 2:19.56.
  • Frankie Brillante gained a spot in the finals in the 1000-meter run (2:59.33) finishing third.
  • Mariah Claudio finished fifth in the 400-meter dash (57.15) and will compete for points tomorrow.
  • In the 500-meter dash Lauren Burke will run again in the finals after running a 1:17.55.
