Rhode Island's Individual Results:

* Joe Leavitt finished in a tie for 12th place overall.  Leavitt compiled a 54-hole score of 223.  He shot a 2-over 73 during Tuesday's final round of play, carding four birdies (par 4 4th; par 3 12th; par 4 15th; and par 4 16th).  His best round of the tournament came when he fired a 1-under par 70 during Monday's second round.  It also marked the low round by a Rhody golfer at the Wildcat Invitational.  The sophomore birdied the par 5 6th hole and the par 4 13th, while registering just one bogey (par 4 5th).  Leavitt opened up with an 80 during the early morning first round.

* Andrew Fiorenzano improved his score in each of the three rounds of play.  The senior from Cranston shot a 75 on Tuesday in the final round.  He finished tied for 31st place overall, with a total score of 230.  Fiorenzano posted a 5-over 76 in the second round, carding 13 pars along the way, and shot an opening round 79.

* Seamus Fennelly also tied for 31st place.  In his first varsity start for the Rams, the junior recorded a 54-hole total of 230 (76-78-76).  He closed with a final round 76 on Tuesday.  In the Monday morning opening round, Fennelly led the way for the squad with a 76, posting back-to-back birdies on the par 4 16th and par 5 17th.  In the afternoon session, the junior posted a score of 78 - including three more birdies on the front nine.

* Billy Walthouse tied for 39th place (231) and posted his best round of the tournament during the final 18 holes on Tuesday.  The freshman fired a 1-over 72, with birdies along the way on the par 5 6th, par 4 10th, and par 5 11th.  He improved in each round of the tournament, recording a second round score of 76, which included three birdies on the front nine.  Walthouse posted an 83 during the first round of play on Monday morning.

* Nick Fairweather also tied for 39th place (231).  Like his teammates, Fairweather's play improved throughout each round.  During Tuesday's final day of play, he shot a 2-over 73 and closed out the back nine at 1-under.  After a slow start, Fairweather rallied with a solid second round score - a 3-over 74, with birdies on the par 4 7th, par 4 16th, and par 5 17th.  He opened with an 84 during the morning round.

* Drexel's Christopher Crawford took individual medalist honors, with a total score of 212 (70-68-74).

Rhode Island Team Results:

* The Rams tied for fifth place in the two-day, 54-hole tournament.  Rhode Island's team score of 907 included two of the lowest team totals - 293 in the third round and 296 in the second round.

Columbia took the team title, with a total score of 892 (311-297-284), followed by Army (893) and Binghamton (896).  Youngstown State was fourth (897).  URI tied with Delaware (907).

Quotable:

"It was really difficult to start in the first group on the tougher side of the golf course in 35 degree weather.  When conditions were more reasonable in the second and third rounds, we showed a little bit more of how we are capable of playing.  We moved from 14th place to 8th and finished 5th over the three rounds.  We had the best second round team score and posted the fourth-best score in the third round.  Over our final nine holes today, we  were 1-under par as a team.  I was especially pleased with he play of Seamus Fennelly, who solidified his spot in the lineup by having the best URI score in round one."
