Rhode Island (10-23) had an offensive outburst, setting season highs in hits and runs as the Rams beat Bryant 11-3 Wednesday.
The victory marked Rhode Island's first win by the eight-run rule this season.
Freshmen Ali Summers, Marylynn Muldowney, Jenna Cubello and Danielle Gariglio sparked the offense, combining for seven hits, six runs batted in and three runs scored. Pitcher Sam Bedore (7-6) allowed just one hit and no runs over 2.2 innings of work to earn the victory.
Bryant (22-16) helped the Rams by committing five errors. The defensive miscues led to six unearned runs.

- Freshman Marylynn Muldowney singled twice, drove in two runs and scored one run. Her heads up base running led to Rhode Island's first run of the game, as she went from first to third on a groundout. Her hustle forced a bad throw, enabling Muldowney to come in to score on the play.
- Freshman Ali Summers had three singles and one walk in four trips to the plate. She also had two RBI.
- Freshman Jenna Cubello had a two-run double to give Rhody the lead for good in the bottom of the second. Cubello – who has a three-game hitting streak – has driven in four runs over her last two games.
- Sophomore Emily Hendricks singled twice, scored once and drove in one run.
- Junior Megan Congro singled twice, scored once drove in one run and had a sacrifice bunt. Her second single drove in Olivia Hendricks with the game-ending run. The sacrifice bunt was Congro's seventh of the season.
- Freshman Danielle Gariglio singled and scored a run. She has hit safely in five straight games. During the streak, Gariglio is batting .400 (6-for-15).
- Senior Amy Gleason walked and scored a pair of runs.
- Senior pitcher Sam Bedore moved into second place in program history with the 329th strikeout of her career.
- Senior first baseman Jocelyn Mattison recorded five putouts and moved into second place in URI history with 1,041 for her career. She also singled and scored two runs.

10 – With its 10th win, Rhode Island already has matched its win total from last year, despite still having 15 games remaining in the regular season.

Rhode Island heads on the road for six games in the next three days. The Rams go to Fairfield Thursday before back-to-back Atlantic 10 doubleheaders at George Mason Friday and La Salle Saturday.
