Setting the Scene
The Rams narrowly won the New England Championship by one point with 77 total points. Southern Connecticut State placed second with 76 total points. UMass Amherst was also a contender coming in third with 61.50 points.
Rhode Island Results
- Janel Conley finished up the last three events in the heptathlon today finishing in second overall with 4680 points. Keiko Hector was also a participant in the event and finished in fifth with 4183 points.
- Genevieve Rybicki picked up three points for Rhody in the shot put coming in fifth (13.07m).
- The 4x100 relay team of Emily Renna, Hannah Janeczak, Brianna Robitaille and Jennifer Christian placed second with a time of (46.35).
- Alexa Pelletier grabbed sixth in the 1500-meter run (4:34.68).
- Emily Renna finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.10.
- Mariah Claudio gained two points for the Rams with a 56.51 timed 400-meter dash.
- Hannah Janeczak picked up 11.82 points in the 100-meter dash.
- In the discus throw Rybicki was second with a throw of 42.42m.
- Conley also competed in the non-heptathlon high jump event and placed fifth (1.70m).
- Nichole Sarkis, Juliana Galante, Michelle Savoie and Nicolette Pelrine finished third in the 4x800 relay (9:10.49).
- In the 4x400 relay Dyshelle Pemberton, Jennifer Czerapowicz, Hannah Janeczak and Claudio placed fifth (3:51.18).
