BOSTON, MASS. — The Rhode Island women's track team had a great showing at the Beantown challenge Saturday afternoon, hosted by Harvard. The Rams started the new year of competition placing sixth with 77.5 points, behind Northeastern, (78) Rutgers, (78.5) Brown, (85) UMass, (86) and Harvard, (138). The win for the Crimson was their sixth straight victory in the event.
The highlight of the meet was freshman Juleen Lewis winning the long jump, while also setting a new program record of 19' 1.5", surpassing Pascale Delaunay's ('04) previous record of 19' .74".

Highlights From the Track
- Junior Karlee Fowler finished second in the pole vault, with a mark of 11' 5.75".
- Senior Dyshelle Pemberton finished third, (57.89s) in the 400m dash.
- Senior Micaela McPadden finished third in the 500m run, with a time of 1:18.22.
- Junior Alyssa Brehler finished third, (10:07.00) in the 3000m run.
- Junior Rebecca O'Donnell finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 37' 7.25".
- Sophomore Katie McNulty placed fourth, (2:17.24) and sophomore Saige Grazia finished eighth, (2:22.44) in the 800m run.
- Senior Courtney Hawkins placed ninth in the mile run, with a time of 5:11.21.
