Rhode Island Falls to Bryant, 5-2

How It Happened
Rhode Island got victories from its top two singles players, but it was not enough as the Rams fell 5-2 to in-state rival Bryant Sunday afternoon.

Bryant (1-0) swept in doubles to earn the team point. The first three singles matches went to the Bulldogs as well, as Bryant clinched the win when Stefanie Arroyo defeated Halah Davis at No. 4 singles.

Mihaela Codreanu got Rhode Island (0-1) on the board with her 7-5, 6-1 win over Linnea Sjoberg. Rachel Smilansky followed up with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles. Ariel Haber nearly grabbed the point at No. 3 singles, battling Bryant's Ashanti Campfield to a three-set match. Haber took the first set 3-6, but Campfield evened things up by winning the second set, 6-2. Campfield took the tie-breaker third set 10-8 to close out the match.
