WEST POINT, N.Y. - Rhode Island's team of Erin Chratian and Rachel Smilansky won its opening round doubles match at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships Friday.
Chratian and Smilansky knocked off Princeton's Stephanie Schrage and Michelle Sorokko, 8-3. In their second round match, the Rhody duo was eliminated by Penn's team of Iuliia Bryzgalova and Marija Curnic, 8-2.
Rhode Island's other doubles entry, Tiara Higuchi and Nadia Rajan was beaten by Boston University's Erica DiBattista and Alex Angyalosy, 8-2.
Chratian also competed in the singles draw, facing Cornell's Ashley Huang. After taking the first set 6-2, Chratian fell in three sets, as Huang rallied to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Rhode Island's competition for the fall is now complete.
