How it Happened
Rhode Island won its sixth game in a row Wednesday afternoon, picking up a crucial 1-0 road win at Atlantic 10 rival UMass. The victory moves the Rams to 6-1-0 in the A-10 and 10-3-2 overall. The Minutemen, meanwhile, fall to 5-10-0 overall and 1-5-0 in league play.

With 18 points in conference play, Rhode Island now has sole possession of first place in the A-10 standings.

The Rams secured the win late in the second half when Filippo Tamburini headed in a ball from Peder Kristiansen for the lone goal of the game. The play began in the midfield, where Ludvik Benco gained possession off a UMass turnover. Benco redirected a pass to Kristiansen, who made a run down the left flank before serving the ball into the 6-yard box, where Tamburini headed in what proved to be the game-winner.

UMass' best chance at an equalizer came in the final seconds of play, but Stefan Schmidt stopped Christian Labeck's attempt as time expired.
