How it Happened
Rhode Island opened Atlantic 10 play with a 1-0 double-overtime victory at George Washington Saturday afternoon. The win extended Rhody's unbeaten streak to four games while the double-overtime contest was the Rams' third in a row.

After more than 100 scoreless minutes, the Rams finally ended things when Filippo Tamburini one-timed a left-footed shot into the back corner of the net to give Rhody the win. Stavros Zarokostas and Lucas Gesmundo were credited with assists on the play as Zarokostas took the ball down the right side of the field and centered a pass to the front of the goal, where Gesmundo redirected the ball to Tamburini. With the GW keeper drawn off his line in an attempt to smother Zarokostas' pass, Tamburini had a clean look at a wide open net and scored his third goal in as many games.
