How it Happened
Filippo Tamburini got the scoring started in the first half, depositing a setup from Edvin Akselsen just 8:38 into the game.
Stavros Zarokostas nearly doubled the Rams' lead in the 15th minute, but his penalty kick was stopped by Holy Cross' Bobby Hurstak. Zarokostas did eventually find the back of net, putting Rhody up 2-0 at the 61:08 mark when he blasted a tight-angle shot into the right corner of the goal.
Edvin Akselsen added to the Rams' advantage three and a half minutes later when he blasted URI's second PK of the night over Hurstak for the 3-0 advantage.
Holy Cross' Emmanuel Petrov spoiled what would have been Rhody's second shutout in a row in the 87th minute when he scored the Crusaders' lone goal of the night.
