Rhode Island Falls at Boston College, 7-0

How It Happened
Rhode Island opened up its spring season with a 7-0 loss at Boston College Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Paulina Loredo and freshman Nadia Rajan gave the Rams a victory at No. 3 doubles. They defeated BC's Micayla Cassella and Marion Conklin, 6-3, for URI's lone victory of the day. However, the Eagles took the other two doubles matches to claim the team point.

Redshirt junior Tiara Higuchi pushed her opponent to three sets in the most competitive match of the day. BC's Natasha Irani won the first set in a tiebreaker before Higuchi evened things by taking the second set 6-3, but Irani came right back to close out the third set, 6-1.

What's Next
Rhode Island hosts Rutgers on Sunday, Feb. 2. The match will be played at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. starting at 12 p.m.
