How it Happened
A cold offense in the second half doomed the Rams in a 73-53 loss at Massachusetts Saturday afternoon.

Rhode Island started the first quarter going 0-for-4 until Maia Moffitt hit a 3-pointer to get the Rams on the board (4-3). Rhody ended the first quarter down 17-11.

A Brazil Harvey-Carr trey cut the UMass lead to three (19-16) in the second, but the Minutewomen responded with a 8-2 run to push their lead to 27-18. The Rams held UMass without a field goal through the final 3:45 of the quarter, and used that to their advantage. Kassondra Brown sunk a 3-ball and Harvey-Carr made both at the charity stripe to go into the half down 27-24.

That was as close as the Rams would get, as the Minutewomen pushed their lead to as many as 23 in the second half and never looked back, cruising to the 73-53 victory.
