Davis, Chratian Grab Doubles Win as Rams Fall

How It Happened
Despite the final score of 7-0, Rhode Island had a highly competitive match at College of Charleston Tuesday.

The Rams (3-7) opened the match strong, getting a victory from junior Halah Davis and sophomore Sydney Chratian at No. 3 doubles. They made quick work of Ava Turner and Peyton Brotzman, winning 6-1.

However, College of Charleston (9-5) grabbed the win at No. 2 doubles. Then Anastasia Palaska and Elizabeth Nowak outlasted Rhody's Erin Chratian and Nadia Rajan, 7-5, to grab the first team point.

Redshirt junior Tiara Higuchi and junior Halah Davis each played three-set matches that were decided by 7-6 scores in the final set. Davis battled back after dropping the first set, but came up just short in the final set.

Freshman Nadia Rajan fell in straight sets at No. 2 singles to Palaska. However, both sets were back-and-forth action, with Palaska winning 7-5, 7-5.
