How It Happened
The efficiency of No. 3 Dayton was too much for Rhode Island, as the Flyers dropped the Rams 84-57 Wednesday night.

The Rams managed to keep it close for much of the first half. A pair of Fatts Russell free throws pulled URI within 30-25 with 7:30 to go. From there, Dayton closed the half on a 16-5 run, establishing a 16-point lead by halftime.

With 16 assists on 29 field goals, Dayton steadily pulled away. Obi Toppin (20), Jalen Crutcher (17) and Tre Landers (14) combined for 51 points to lead the Flyers. While Dayton shot 46.8 percent from the floor, Rhode Island was just 17-of-59 from the floor (28.8 percent). The Rams were not able to mount a comeback, falling for the third time in four games.
