Rhode Island sits atop the leaderboard after the first round of play, combining for a 6-under team score of 282.
URI and second-place Army West Point (-2) were the only teams among the field of 16 to be under par as a team through the first round.
Layfayette (+3), host UConn (+4) and Columbia (+7) round out the top-5.

Individual Results

Sophomore Andrew DiPetrillo and redshirt senior Jordan Brajcich are in a four-way tie for second place after 18 holes. Both carded a 69 to finish one stroke off the lead.
DiPetrillo's 3-under score came as the result of 15 pars and three birdies.
Brajcich had five birdies, and one of just five eagles on the day as he finished the par-5 14th hole in just three strokes.
Junior Bryson Richards is currently tied for eighth place with a 1-under 71. He recorded seven birdies on the day, more than any other competitor in the field of 90.
Redshirt senior Brandon Gillis also recorded an eagle on the 14th hole, making URI the only team with multiple eagles on the day. Gillis finished the round in 73 strokes (+1) to tie for 19th overall.
Sophomore Jack Tegan will enter Monday's second round tied for 70th place with a first-round score of 79 (+7).

Head Coach Gregg Burke Said

Generally, we played well today but we left so many shots out there. We actually took three doubles on the back.
Hats off to Andrew who had a clean card. He had three birdies but had another six or seven birdie putts inside 15 feet.
This was our second round on a course UConn plays five days a week. I fully expect them to come back. We also only have a four-stroke lead on Army, which is playing extremely well.
We need four guys to go red tomorrow to have a chance to win this.
