O'Donovan Signs NLI to Join Rhody Golf Program

KINGSTON, R.I. - Head coach Gregg Burke has announced that Aidan O'Donovan has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Rhode Island golf team next season.

"We had Aidan as a top prospect even before he exploded 18 months ago and had a great summer," head coach Gregg Burke said. "He is a thinker, a grinder when he needs to be, and a winner."

O'Donovan, who will become the third collegiate athlete in his family, chose Rhode Island over Boston College and Georgetown. He cites URI's campus, coach and program culture as key factors in his decision to become a Ram.

"URI is the perfect fit for me," O'Donovan said. "It is a nice, beautiful campus with a great coach who has the right intentions. He puts a strong emphasis on being a gentleman and he truly wants the best for his players. It's school first, then everything else after."

"I have said for almost a decade now that we recruit families.  There have been very good players we didn't offer because it wasn't a good fit for us.  Well the opposite is true for the O'Donovans.  This is as wonderful a family as we have ever had, and they fit into our culture right from day one."
