How It HappenedÂ
Just 45 seconds away from a potential tie,
Ivan Montoro charged through the box with the ball and fired a shot past George Mason's Jake Langley, lifting Rhode Island to a 2-1 victory on Senior Night at the URI Soccer Complex.
The Rams had taken a 1-0 lead on
Patrick Agyemang's sixth tally of the season, just 12:54 to the game. Ishmail Kamara equalized for the Patriots five minutes later and the 1-1 score stood until Montoro's eventual game-winner.
The late heroics were nothing new for the Rams, as Rhode Island's last two wins have both come on final-minute goals. Last Wednesday,Â
Patrick Gryczewski scored with just 10 seconds remaining as the Rams knocked off visiting Saint Louis, 3-2.
