How It Happened
Just 45 seconds away from a potential tie, Ivan Montoro charged through the box with the ball and fired a shot past George Mason's Jake Langley, lifting Rhode Island to a 2-1 victory on Senior Night at the URI Soccer Complex.

The Rams had taken a 1-0 lead on Patrick Agyemang's sixth tally of the season, just 12:54 to the game. Ishmail Kamara equalized for the Patriots five minutes later and the 1-1 score stood until Montoro's eventual game-winner.

The late heroics were nothing new for the Rams, as Rhode Island's last two wins have both come on final-minute goals. Last Wednesday, Patrick Gryczewski scored with just 10 seconds remaining as the Rams knocked off visiting Saint Louis, 3-2.

Inside the Box Score
  • Patrick Agyemang scored his sixth goal of the season for URI, all of which have come in the last six games.
  • Carlo Kettig and Jordan Koduah both assisted on Agyemang's goal. For both players, it was their first assist of the season.
  • Ivan Montoro's game-winner was his first goal of the season.
  • Rhody outshot Mason 14-5 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
  • With the win, Rhode Island - which entered the weekend in 10th place in the Atlantic 10 standings - is now tied for fourth in the league, alongside UMass, Loyola Chicago and La Salle
