• Rhode Island finished the opening round tied for third place (with Seton Hall and Lafayette) at 17-over (305).
• St. John's leads the field at +13 (301), followed by UConn at +16 (304).
• Saint Joseph's is the only other Atlantic 10 team among the field of 14. The Hawks are in 14th place at 44-over (332).

Individual Results

• Redshirt fifth year Brandon Gillis is tied for first place at 1-under. His eagle on the par-5 second hole was one of just two eagles on the day.
• Freshman Aidan O'Donovan carded a first-round 77 (+5) to tie for 23rd place.
• Senior Bryson Richards is in a five-way tie for 30th overall, one stroke behind O'Donovan at +6 (78).
• Redshirt freshman Chuck Tragesser is one of eight players to finish 7-over (79) and tie for 35th.
• Junior Geronimo Narizzano went 8-over (80) to tie for 43rd place.

Head Coach Gregg Burke Said...

• Aside from Brandon, we did not have a good day at all. Clearly the cold and wind affected the entire field, but we are tougher than that.
• I was really proud of Aidan, who settled down after a bad double. He is so close to being really good.
• We are in the same position we have been in most tournaments this fall - the only team that can prevent us from winning is us. 
• Tomorrow will help define who we are this season.
