CHARLESTON, S.C. – Rhode Island dropped its fifth straight match as it lost at Charleston Southern, 7-0, Friday.
Competing at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center, the Rams (6-7) got a victory at No. 1 doubles.
Valentina Cvackova and
Klara Nelander paired up to defeat Tiffany Pyritz and Zoe Cauthen, 6-2. Charleston Southern (10-3) won the other two doubles matches to grab the team point.
Each of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets. The most competitive match came at No. 2 singles, where Noe Boyd defeated
Erin Chratian 7-5, 6-3.
Rhode Island gets a bit of a break in its schedule. The Rams are off until Saturday, March 26 when they host Boston University at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport.
