Rhode Island vs. Davidson
- Rhode Island is 10-8 all time against Davidson.
- The teams first met in 1985 and most recently played one another during the 2019 season.
- That year, URI dropped two of three at Wilson Field, and was later eliminated from the A-10 Championship by the Wildcats.
Rhode Island (11-25, 6-3 Atlantic 10)
- Rhode Island enters the weekend in a three-way tie – with UMass and Saint Joseph's – for second place in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 6-3 conference record.
- The Rams have won each of their first three league series, taking two-of-three from Dayton, St. Bonaventure and UMass.
- Rhody travels to Davidson having won four of its last five games. During that stretch, the Rams have outscored their opponents 52-17.
- Redshirt sophomore Addison Kopack leads the team with a .320 batting average, 21 walks, six stolen bases, 30 runs scored and a .431 on-base percentage.
- Kopack also is tied – with freshman Eric Genther – for the team lead in total hits (39) and runs batted in (33).
- Kopack and Genther were named this week's A-10 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Genther also claimed Rookie of the Week honors last week.
- Freshman Anthony DePino has recorded a team-best 11 homers and leads the team with a .654 slugging percentage.
- After going just 5-for-46 (.109) with three RBI and one run scored over his first 15 games played, grad student Jordan Laske has combined to go 25-for-65 (.385) with nine RBI and nine runs scored over his last 16 games played.
- Fifth-year senior Xavier Vargas was hitting .357 through eight games played before being sidelined by an injury.
- Similarly, senior Billy Butler homered in his first at-bat of the season – in the top of the first inning in the season-opener at William & Mary – and then became injured in the bottom of the inning. He has not played since.
- Junior Domenic Picone (2-0) and sophomore Trystan Levesque (3-0) are undefeated through six A-10 starts.
- Levesque has allowed just two runs on 10 hits through 20.0 innings pitched against conference opponents while Picone is averaging eight strikeouts per start in league play.
- Junior Zach Fernandez combined for five shutout innings over two relief appearances last week, striking out seven without allowing a hit.

Davidson (29-6, 8-1 Atlantic 10)
- Davidson enters the weekend in sole possession of first place in the A-10 standings.
- The Wildcats' lone loss in A-10 play was a 7-6 defeat at VCU. Davidson swept both Richmond and St. Bonaventure.
- The Wildcats are on a seven-game winning streak and have won 12 of their last 13 games at Wilson Field.
- Michael Carico (.424) and Ryan Wilson (.412) both are hitting above .400 for Davidson.
- Carico leads the team in total hits (53), doubles (15), homers (11), RBI (36) slugging (.824) and on-base percentage (.576).
- Wilson paces the Wildcats in runs scored (43), walks (35) and stolen bases (15).
- As a team, Davidson owns a 3.15 earned run average.
- Friday starter Nolan DeVos is 5-1 with a team-best 75 strikeouts.
- Saturday starter Blake Hely is 5-0 while Sunday starter Ryan Feczko is 8-0.
