Rhode Island leads the field of 15 after the first round of play.
The Rams combined for a team score of 274, which is 6-under par.
Temple (-1) is in second place – five strokes behind URI – followed by Penn (+4).
Saint Joseph's – the only other Atlantic 10 team competing in the tournament – is in 12th place at 20-over.

Individual Results

Redshirt fifth year Brandon Gillis is tied for the lead at 4-under (66). His six birdies today tied Temple's Ethan Whitney for tops among the field of 84.
Sophomore Chuck Tragesser is tied for fourth place after carding an opening-round 68. He was +1 though 11 holes but birdied three of the last seven to finish the day 2-under.
Senior Bryson Richards and freshman Aidan O'Donovan are tied for eighth overall with an even 70.
O'Donovan was 3-over on the front nine but birdied three holes on the back nine to get even.
Richards eagled the par-5 third hole and was 2-under through 17, but a bogey on the 18th evened him out.
Junior transfer Geronimo Narizzano went 4-over (74) to finish the day tied for 38th.

Brandon played extremely well again, and as strange as it is to say, he could have gone even lower.
Both Chuck and Aidan went three red in the final seven holes, which really made a difference.
We will have to have an even better team score tomorrow to win this. Temple on its own course will be dangerous.
We are really good through the first three guys for the second tournament in a row. When the other two guys find their groove, we will have some special rounds.
