RHODE ISLAND VS. ST. BONAVENTURE - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure are facing each other for the 74th time Wednesday.
- URI holds a 42-31 edge all-time, including a 25-8 record in home games against the Bonnies.
- The Rams have won five straight at home in the series, with St. Bonaventure last winning in the Ryan Center on Feb. 9, 2013, a 67-61 contest.
- Rhode Island has won three of the last five meetings, though St. Bonaventure had a 73-55 win last season.
- It is a new team this season for the Bonnies. The only St. Bonaventure player on this year's roster who appeared in the game against Rhode Island last season is Justin Ndjock-Tadjore, who played one minute. He has appeared in one game this year.
- Rhode Island head coach Archie Miller is 8-2 all-time against St. Bonaventure, with all 10 games coming during his time at Dayton.
LEGGETT, CAREY BOTH RECORD A DOUBLE-DOUBLE AT LA SALLE
- Guards Ishmael Leggett and Jalen Carey both had a double-double last time out at La Salle, with Leggett scoring 11 points to go with 11 rebounds, and Carey scoring a team-high 18 points to go with 11 boards.
- It was the second double-double this season for Leggett, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds in URI's win over Army on Dec. 10.
- The last time URI had two players with double-doubles in the same game was Feb. 16, 2021 with Makhel Mitchell and Antwan Walker doing it against Dayton.
- Entering the season, nobody on the Rhode Island roster had a double-double in their career.
- Carey became the fifth different Rhody player through 15 games to record one this season.
- Redshirt sophomore Josaphat Bilau had 10 points and 11 boards against Illinois State on Nov. 23.
- Redshirt freshman Brandon Weston had 10 points and 10 rebounds against Kansas State on Nov. 21.
- Sophomore Sebastian Thomas had 13 points and 10 assists against Stony Brook on Nov. 15.
- Redshirt senior Malik Martin has come close in multiple games.
- He had nine points and 12 boards against Army (12/10), eight points and 10 rebounds against Tulane (11/22) and 11 points and eight rebounds against Quinnipiac (11/7).
- Despite having a physically small roster, the Rams have outrebounded their opponents in 10 of 15 games.
- For the season, URI has an average rebounding margin of +3.9 per game.
STEWART OFFERS POSITIVE IMPACT
- Freshman Rory Stewart found ways to impact the game without personal statistics at La Salle.
- In 13 minutes off the bench, he was 0-for-1 shooting with no points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks.
- However, he had a team-best plus-12, as URI outscored La Salle 28-16 with Stewart on the floor.
- No other Ram was better than a plus-6.
- This has been a trend all season for Stewart. In 96 minutes of playing time, he is a team-best plus-26.
- The next closest is Josaphat Bilau, who had a plus-15 before suffering a season-ending injury.
