Richards Wins Second Straight A-10 Player of the Week

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island's Bryson Richards was named the Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week for the second week in a row, the conference announced Tuesday night.

Richards won his second consecutive tournament when he topped the 57-player field at the Nassau Intercollegiate. He was the only player in the field to finish under par.

Richards was two strokes behind LIU's Marcelo Mexsen after the opening round, but Richards shot 3-under in the second round and 2-under in the third round to win the tournament by three strokes. Richards was 3-under par over the final 10 holes to put the tournament away, and he was under par in two of the three rounds. The rest of the 56 players combined for two rounds under par out of 168 total rounds.

The title was the fifth of Richards' career, and his second in a span of 11 days after missing three weeks with a back injury. Richards won two of the three events he played in the fall. He now has eight career weekly conference honors. He has been the Player of the Week six times and was the Rookie of the Week twice.
