Rams Win Series With 15-4 Victory at Mercer

How it Happened
Rhode Island's powerful lineup made it presence felt again, as the Rams pounded Mercer 15-4 to give URI the series win Sunday afternoon.

The Rams (3-3) scored 12 runs over the first four innings, providing plenty of run support for starting pitcher Braeden Perry. In the top of the first, Addison Kopack gave URI the early lead with a two-run homer after Eric Genther was hit by a pitch. It was the first of four home runs on the day for Rhode Island, as Michael Anderson had a solo blast in the second inning and a two-run shot in the fourth. Mark Coley had a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning.

With the plethora of run support, Perry (1-1) cruised through much of his outing. He kept Mercer off the scoreboard through the first four innings, including a 1-2-3 frame in the bottom of the fourth on just eight pitches.
