BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Paulina Loredo scored a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles, but Rhode Island fell at Boston University, 6-1, Friday afternoon.

The host Terriers (3-1) swept the three doubles matches to nab the first team point of the match. Loredo then evened the team score for the Rams (2-1) by defeating Steph Nguyen, 6-1, 6-0. 

However, each of the remaining five singles matches went to BU in straight sets. Rhody freshman Ava Grnja played well despite falling to Navya Vadlamudi, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

Rhode Island is back in action Sunday afternoon when it travels to Siena. The match begins at 1:45 p.m.
