KINGSTON, R.I. -
Rhode Island will battle a tough 10-team field this weekend at the Cutter Creek Invitational. The three-day tournament includes single rounds Friday through Sunday at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

The College Golf Network will carry a live stream for all three rounds of the tournament on Youtube. CGN is dedicated to covering college golf, streaming live events while also providing original programming and analysis focused on the sport.

Presented by Dogwood State Bank, the Cutter Creek Invitational is a 10-team tournament that features co-hosts East Carolina and Elon. Also in the field are Delaware, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville State, Old Dominion, Radford, Richmond and Sandhills Community College. Individual players from Liberty and Barton College will also be in the field.

"This is a terrific tournament for us, as there are five teams in the field rated higher than us on Golfstat and two just below us," Rhode Island head coach Gregg Burke said. "When you have players like Brandon Gillis and Bryson Richards, you have to upgrade the schedule so their national rankings can put them in a position to be considered for individual spots in the NCAA Tournament if they play well in these bigger tournaments."

Gillis is the reigning Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week. He is one of five individuals from the 10-team field who have earned Golfer of the Week honors in their respective conferences in the last two week. In addition to Gillis, current honorees are East Carolina's Lucas Augustsson (American Athletic Conference) and Gardner-Webb's Max White (Big South).

Last week, Delaware's Casper Nerpin (Colonial Athletic Association) and Jacksonville State's Erik Jansson (ASUN) received the honor in their conference. Adding to the high-end field are Elon's Landon Durham, who captured medalist honors while leading the Phoenix to a team title at the Aggie Invitational last week, and Sandhills CC freshman Ben Read, who won the individual title at the Stitch Flyers Invitational his last time out.

Cutter Creek was the site of the 2022 North Carolina State Mid Am. Constructed in 2008, the par-72, 7,280-yard course also will host the Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship in September.
