GLENSIDE, Pa. - Senior Bryson Richards placed fourth on the individual leaderboard to lead Rhode Island to a sixth-place team finish at the Wildcat Spring Invitational.

On the second day of the tournament, Richards shot a three-under 68 to charge 21 spots up the leaderboard. One of two players in the field to fire two eagles during the tournament, Richards had five birdies on the second day. Villanova's Peter Weaver took medalist honors, shooting a minus-9 - including a 6-under on Tuesday - to finish six strokes ahead of the field.

Freshman Aidan O'Donovan had Rhody's second-highest score, shooting a plus-6 77 on the second day to finish tied for 13th overall. O'Donovan had been tied for second after shooting a four-under 67 on Day One.

Redshirt senior Brandon Gillis was two strokes behind O'Donovan, placing in a tie for 23rd. He moved up 11 spots on the final day of competition.

Villanova won the team title with an even-par 568, overtaking first-day leader La Salle to win by two shots. The top five also included Lehigh (573), Bucknell (579) and St. John's (582). Rhode Island was just outside the top five, shooting 584 for a sixth-place finish.

The Rams are back in action this weekend at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State. The teams will play Saturday and Sunday in what is URI's final tournament before the Atlantic 10 Championship.
