SNOW HILL, N.C. - Seniors
Bryson Richards and
Andrew DiPetrillo both finished among the top 15 to lead Rhode Island at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate Presented by Dogwood State Bank.
Richards fired a minus-2 70 on the final day of the tournament. He moved up three spots on the individual leaderboard to place seventh for the three-day event. Richards and Jacksonville State's Erik Jannson both were plus-3 to finish six strokes behind medalist Lucas Augustsson of East Carolina.
DiPetrillo had his second straight strong round, shooting an even-par 72 Sunday. He birdied three holes on the front nine, helping him move up four spots to tie for 14th overall. DiPetrillo shaved two strokes off his round each day, shooting 76-74-72 for the tournament.
Redshirt freshman
Chuck Tragesser was Rhody's third low scorer, finishing with a plus-11 to place 38th overall.
Head Coach Gregg Burke Said...
"Well, we certainly found someone in
Andrew DiPetrillo who became our strong third. He and
Bryson Richards really played great golf.Â
"In our world, the most important statistics are how many times do we use your ball in scoring and where did you finish on our team each round. We used Bryson's, Brandon's, and Andrew's score three of our 12 scoring opportunities. And we used Chuck's score twice. Pretty clear who our top four are.
This is a good week to catch up on schoolwork and find out who will play number five at Villanova."
