KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing will head back to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. for the second time this season for the Eastern Sprints on Sunday, April 30. The event is the team's last race in preparation for the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship.
The 18-school field includes boats from Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Georgetown, Harvard-Radcliffe, Marist, Massachusetts, Michigan State, Northeastern, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple.
Competition will feature two sessions of racing. Morning heats begin at 8 a.m. and will feature three heats with as many as six boats per heat. The top two finishers in each of the heats will advance to the Grand final in each flight. The third- and fourth-place boats will advance to the Petite finals and the remaining boats will compete in the Third Level finals.
Following a short break, the teams return to the water for the finals, which begin at 12:10 p.m.
The day
will be streamed in partnership with the Intercollegiate Rowing Association.
In lieu of an entrance fee to park, the Quinsigamond Rowing Association has recommended a cash donation of $15.00 per person at the door. Donations may also be made
online ahead of time, with entry status based on the emailed receipt.
