KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior
Liz Lynchard has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for softball.
Lynchard had a dominant week when Rhode Island needed it most, going 3-0 with a 0.35 ERA in 20.0 innings of work against conference opponents Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure. Lynchard led URI to a 5-0 record for the week as the Rams closed in on their first postseason bid in 13 years.

In the series opener at St. Bonaventure, Lynchard threw her second complete-game shutout of the week, a three-hitter with seven strikeouts. In her final appearance of the week, she allowed just one run over 3.1 innings, getting a no-decision in an eventual win for the team. For the week, Lynchard had 18 strikeouts with just two walks and 13 hits allowed. Opponents batted just .181 against her over the four appearances.
Lynchard is the second Ram to earn a weekly honor this season. Outfielder
