Frost Punches Ticket to Austin, Rhody Represents at NCAA Regionals

JACKSONVILLE, FLA -- Rhode Island men's track and field junior Lucas Frost finished eighth in the javelin at the NCAA Regional Wednesday. Frost had a throw of 71.58m (234' 10") to become the first javelin thrower to advance to the NCAA Championship since Ryan McCarthy in 2008.

  • The Rams had four represented in the javelin. After Frost, freshman Adam Dubois was the next top finisher placing 27th (63.38m/207' 11"). It was Dubois first career NCAA appearance as a freshman.
  • Seth Cordeiro finished right behind Dubois with a throw of 63.08 meters (206' 11") and Nikolaj Freschlin was 47th after marking 57.66 meters (189' 2").
  • Mason Brubaker was 37th in the pole vault after clearing 4.90 meters.
