Javelin Results

Rhode Island junior javelin thrower Lucas Frost finished sixth in his flight and 18th in the country at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship Wednesday. He had a mark of 222' 0" as the first javelin thrower in program history to place at the final round of the Championship. Both Ryan McCarthy (2008) and Mike Vermillion (1979) qualified for the Finals, but did not compete. Frost earned All-American, Honorable Mention for his finish.

Frost is the 34th Ram in program history to make it to the NCAA Outdoor Championship, and the first since 2010 (Derek Peterson, Discus).

The finish wraps a standout season for Frost. A two-time Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Week, Frost defended his javelin title at the A-10 Outdoor Championship with a program, facility, and meet record throw of 246' 2".
