Frost Set for NCAA Outdoor Championship

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island senior Lucas Frost is set for competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:30 EST. Frost, competing in the javelin, advanced to the finals after throwing 234' 10" (71.58m) for eighth place at the Regional Round. The Tewksbury, Mass. native is the first javelin thrower to advance to the NCAA Championship since Ryan McCarthy in 2008.

Frost joins three other student-athletes representing the A-10 at the NCAA Final in Austin. La Salle graduate student El Mancini, Saint Louis sophomore Toby Gillen and VCU sophomore Gudrun Hallgrímsdóttir are all making the trip to Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.
