KINGSTON, R.I. — Earlier this summer women's soccer incoming freshman Aida Name represented Panama on the U20 National Team. Name made the 20-person roster that competed for three days at the Sud Ladies Cup 2023 in Avignon, France. Panama was one of four teams to the invite-only tournament which included France, Cameroon, and Japan. The contest was preparation for the Concacaf Women's U20 Championship in the Dominican Republic.

While in the Dominican Republic Name prepared for the group stage in the qualifiers by playing strong competition in Team USA, Canada, and Jamaica. Panama's results unfortunately did not get them in the top two of the group but it was an overall great experience for Name.

Name and the rest of the squad start preseason next Monday, August 1st in preparation for the season-opening exhibition games at Stonehill (Aug. 10) and against Fairfield (Aug. 13). The regular season begins when the Rams host Bryant at the URI Soccer Complex Aug. 17.
