RHODE ISLAND VS. GEORGE MASON - SERIES NOTES

• Saturday's game will be the 14th all time between Rhode Island and George Mason.
• Rhode Island holds a slight lead in the series, 7-6.
• George Mason has won the last two meetings, both of which happened last season.
• The Patriots won 79-72 on Jan. 21 at Rhode Island, and then 75-67 at home on Feb. 11.
• Before last season, Rhode Island had won seven of the previous eight games in the series.
• Rhode Island is 3-2 at EagleBank Arena, with its last victory coming in a 78-64 win on Jan. 28, 2020.
• George Mason is coming in off a 69-60 win over St. Bonaventure, which snapped a three-game losing streak. 
• Rhode Island enters on a three-game losing streak, which began with a loss at St. Bonaventure on Jan. 17.
• George Mason and Rhode Island are the top two teams in the Atlantic 10 in terms of rebounding margin.
• The Patriots lead the league with a +5.5 margin per game, while Rhode Island is second at +4.9.
• George Mason's Keyshawn Hall leads the Atlantic 10 with 9.2 rebounds per game, while Rhode Island's David Fuchs is third with 7.8 rebounds per game. 
• Hall and Fuchs are 1-2 in the Atlantic 10 with eight and five double-doubles, respectively.
• George Mason is one of the toughest teams in the country to shoot against. Opponents are shooting .388 from the field against the Patriots, which is the ninth lowest opposing percentage in the nation.

RAMS SHOWING IMPROVEMENT IN SEVERAL OFFENSIVE AREAS

• While Rhode Island has struggled with overall consistency throughout the season, the Rams have significantly improved in several offensive areas from last year.
• The Rams are averaging 72.9 points per game, up 6.9 points per game from a year ago.
• URI is shooting .468 from the field this season, up 74 percentage points from .394 in 2022-23.
• Rhody is shooting .356 from the 3-point arc, up from .304 last year.
• The Rams have also improved in rebounds per game (38.3 from 37.0), assists per game (13.3 from 11.2) and turnovers per game (13.2 from 14.1).
• The biggest area URI has fallen off from last season is free throw percentage. The Rams are shooting .626 at the line, compared to .744 last season.

FOUMENA MAKING THE MOST OF HIS MINUTES

• Redshirt freshman center Jeremy Foumena has been a bright spot despite the team struggles in recent games.
• Last time out against Fordham, Foumena had a team-high 13 points with five rebounds and two blocked shots in 24 minutes off the bench.
• Since the start of Atlantic 10 play, Foumena is shooting .727 from the field (16-of-22).
• Foumena has appeared in every game as a reserve, averaging 6.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game.
