KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island head coach Jonas Brobeck announced that Norway native Kajsa Helgesen has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Rams for the 2025-26 season.
One of the top women's players in Norway, Helgesen is ranked third in the country in her age group and is ranked in the top 25 for all women's players in Norway. A native of Stavanger, Norway, Helgesen represented Norway in European Championships Summer Cups in 2022.
"We are very excited to have Kajsa join us next Fall," Brobeck said. "She is a great tennis player who will help us a lot in both singles and doubles. More importantly, she is a wonderful person who loves competing for a team and will thrive in this environment. The future is bright for Rhody Tennis."
Helgesen has won three International Tennis Federation junior titles in doubles and has an ITF ranking of 1270. She has a Universal Tennis Rating of 8.5 and a World Tennis Number of 22.
Helgesen is the fourth international recruit for Brobeck within the last year. This year's squad has a freshman class of
Katharina Spieth (Germany), Gracy Darcy (Australia) and Anastasia Petterson (Sweden).
