RHODE ISLAND VS. DETROIT MERCY - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and Detroit are meeting for the sixth time.
- Both sides have won three times, with Rhody winning the most recent meeting 69-55 on Dec. 20, 2014.
- Detroit Mercy was known as Detroit until 2017.
- The teams first met on Feb. 17, 1945, a 63-45 URI win.
- They played twice during the 1978-79 season. Detroit won 69-67 as part of the Motor City Tournament and then nipped the Rams 77-76 in overtime at the Providence Civic Center.
- In the game in the Civic Center, Sly Williams scored 44 points, which is the fifth most in a single game in program history.
- Detroit Mercy enters the week 3-3, including an 87-65 loss to the Atlantic 10's Loyola Chicago on Nov. 7.
- The Titans play Tulsa on Tuesday before facing the Rams Wednesday.
RHODE ISLAND VS. UT ARLINGTON - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and UT Arlington are meeting for the first time.
- The Mavericks compete in the Western Athletic ConferenceÂ
- UT Arlington entered the week 2-3.
- Its game against Rhode Island will be UT Arlington's third in as many days. The Mavericks play Murray State Tuesday afternoon, Austin Peay on Wednesday and then Rhode Island Thursday.
- A high-powered offense, the Mavericks averaged 85.0 points per game through their first five contests.

RAMS LOOKING TO START 6-0Â
- Rhode Island is looking for its best start in 44 seasons, as it looks to go 6-0 Wednesday.
- The 1980-81 Rams opened the season 7-0.
- First-year coach Claude English led URI to a 21-8 record and a spot in the NIT that season.
- Rhody also started with seven victories in 1976-77 team. That squad was coached by Jack Kraft and finished 24-7 with an appearance in the NCAA Championship.
- URI has won its first six games 12 times in program history.
- Of the 12 times, nine were during Basketball Hall of Fame coach Frank Keaney's tenture from 1928-48.Â
- Keaney's 1938-39 team won its first 13 games, the best start in URI history.
- He also had two 6-0 starts, one 7-0 start, three 9-0 starts and one 12-0 start.
RAMS TOP 90 POINTS AGAIN
- With its 91-53 victory over College of Charleston last time out, Rhode Island has now scored more than 90 points four times in the first five games of the season.
- In 149 games over the previous five seasons, the Rams topped 90 points just five times.
- Rhody is averaging 93.8 points per game, which ranks sixth in the nation.
- The last time Rhode Island averaged even 80 points per game was 1996-97, when it scored 80.7 points per game over 30 contests.
- The highest scoring average in URI history is 89.3 points per game during the 1965-66 season (28 games).
- Five players are averaging double digits in scoring. Point guard Sebastian Thomas leads the team with 16.5 points per game.
- Â Guard Jaden House (15.4), forward David Green (15.2), center Javonte Brown (13.4) and guard Jamarques Lawrence (10.2).
- As a team, the Rams are shooting .535 from the field.
