KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team was in action at three different meets on Saturday. The Rams sent student-athletes to Brown's Alden Invitational, Boston Univeristy's Season-Opener Meet, and the New Balance Early Bird Invitational.
Rhody's most successful meet was the one hosted by New Balance, where the team won a trio of events.
Sydney Federico (1:15.48) edged Bridgewater State's Kiara Abrantes by a quarter of a second to capture the 500m, the team's only first-place finish in a track event. A pair of Rhody jumpers won the high jump and triple jump in
Macy Daigle (5' 7") and
Lily MacDonald (38' 2"). Though
Erin Hurley won her heat of the Mile at the BU Season Opener (5:04.47), she came in 35th overall.
