KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's track & field team hosted a meet at Mackal Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the start of the URI Coaches Invitational, the team honored its 10-member senior class:

Virsavia Goretoy,
Caroline Larkin,
Daniella Napoli,
Hanna O'Connor,
Molly Sabia,
Amyah Santana,
Corina Vidal,
Megan Wood and
Brynne Wright.
In addition to the senior day festivities, the action was highlighted by a series of wins for the Rams. The team took home two individual events, as
Jacqueline Edoro captured the triple jump with a 38' 1.75" effort and
Olivia Skapczynski won the 1000m in 3:02.06. Rhode Island also had a pair of winning relay entries in the 4x800 and the 4x400.
Highlights
- Corina Vidal, Leyla Kvaternik, Olivia Skapczynski and Linsey Arends won the 4x800m Relay with a time of 9:43.55.
- Virsavia Goretoy, Jacqueline Edoro, Elise LePage and Joyce London teamed up to win the 4x400m Relay in 4:05.21.
- In the 1000, Skapczynski was followed by fourth-place Vidal (3:04.28) and seventh-place Kvaternik (3:05.77).
- Megan Wood (55' 10") and Erynn Field (53' 10") placed third and fourth in the weight throw, respectively.
- LePage also had a top finish in the 500m, coming in third at 1:18.99.
- Wood's 43' 6" throw earned her fourth in the shot put. Alyssa Yankee joined her in the top 10 with a 40' 8.25" toss that earned her seventh overall.
- Katie Welsh cleared 11' 5.75" to finish fourth in the pole vault. Sophie Hagymas and Sarah Parr each cleared 11' to finish seventh and eighth.
- Goretoy placed fifth overall in the long jump with a 17' 7.5" leap. Edoro (17' 2.75") was eighth.
- Sophia DiMuccio crossed the line in 5:18.68 for a sixth-place finish in the Mile. Daniella Napoli was seventh at 5:20.37.
- Goretoy had yet another top-10 performance in the 60M Hurdles, coming across in 9.12 for sixth.
- Alexis Zarr was sixth in the high jump at 5' 1".
- Lindsay Turgeon ran 2:24.34 for seventh overall in the 800m. Sofia Piccone was just behind her, coming in ninth at 2:26.21.

Rhode Island will have one final tune-up at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 17. The competition in Providence will be the team's last before the Atlantic 10 Championship.
